Fronted by father and daughter Holly and Charlie, whose voices blend into the close harmonies the band is known for, and backed by Tim on bass and Mark on drums, they play classic hits from every decade, picked to fill a dance floor and keep it full. Tracks fill out the arrangements and add the textures a song calls for, and extra musicians can join for a bigger sound on request. Based in Sevenoaks, Kent, they bring their own PA and lighting, so everything you need for the night comes with the band. Don't be deceived: The Distractions will have you believing your favourite artists have just taken the stage.

  • Guitar and Vocals

Charlie discovered his passion for music by singing in church long before he picked up a guitar aged 13. As a teenager, he was already performing in pubs and bars—well before he was old enough to order a pint. In the 1990s, he joined the folk-rock band Eden Burning, where he played guitar and mandolin, touring extensively across the UK and Europe, with memorable performances at festivals such as Glastonbury, Greenbelt, and Cropredy. After the band parted ways in 1997, Charlie studied sound recording and has since performed with numerous musicians at weddings, parties, and other events. He continues to sing and play in church, witnessing the power of music to draw people together and create community.

  • Vocals

Holly’s love of singing began at the age of four when she chose to sing at every available opportunity—so much so that a rule banning singing at the dinner table was introduced. Since then, she has performed on the West End stage with her award-winning a cappella group, sung at numerous events and shows, and had her covers picked up and broadcast on local radio. With a background in classical music, Holly possesses the vocals and skill to ensure the party never stops.

  • Bass

Tim grew up to the soundtrack of Motown and disco which, together with playing his parents' Beatles records, sparked an early love of music. After a few years of guitar lessons he swapped his classical guitar for a strat and played in a local band. His musical interests range from prog to folk and almost anything in between. After many years playing guitar and bass in a church band he's enjoying re-living the sounds of his youth!

  • Drums

Mark’s love of music started at age 10 when he learned to play the trumpet, and later the guitar and then drums. He spent a number of years regularly gigging at festivals, music halls and pubs and clubs in the West Midlands, playing a variety of styles: swing, blues, musical theatre and rock. After a while away from music he picked up the sticks again several years ago and hasn’t looked back.
